Uniform Requirements
To compete in club competitions and State events, it is compulsory to wear the full
Eastern Hills Little Athletics Centre (EHLAC) uniform. Uniforms are not required
for training, but athletes should wear appropriate sports clothing.
Club Singlet or Polo

- Athletes must wear the official EHLAC singlet or polo shirt in club colours
(red, black, and white with the EHLAC logo).
- Only the official EHLAC top is permitted.
- Registration numbers must be attached to the centre front of the top.
- Lost registration bibs can be replaced through the club for a small fee of $10.
Shorts

- Shorts must be plain black.
- Not permitted: logos (other than a small manufacturer logo no larger than a matchbox),
stripes, coloured panels, or patterned markings.
- Shorts should be an appropriate athletic length (above the knee).
- Leggings and tights are not allowed.
Footwear
- All athletes must wear suitable enclosed shoes when competing.
- Competing in bare feet is strictly prohibited.
Trainers / Runners

- Suitable for all athletes in all events.
- Standard sports or running shoes are acceptable.
Waffles

- Younger athletes may choose to wear athletics “waffles” (spikeless shoes with a rubber lug sole).
- Not mandatory – regular sports shoes are fine.
- Suitable for all athletes in all events.
Spikes
- U10 and under: Not permitted.
- U11–U12: Allowed in long jump, triple jump, high jump, javelin, and events run entirely in lanes.
- U13–U17: Allowed in long jump, triple jump, high jump, javelin, and all track events (except walks).
- Maximum spike length on synthetic surfaces:
- Track events: 7 mm
- Long jump / triple jump: 9 mm
- Javelin / high jump: 11 mm
- Spikes must be carried in a bag and only worn for events.
- Spikes must only be worn within the competition arena / event area, not in the stands or outer areas.
- Only Christmas Tree, Half Christmas Tree, or Pyramid spikes (or similar variations) are permitted;
needle spikes are banned.
- Not permitted: football boots, cleats, or footwear with metal studs.
Important Notice
Athletes not wearing the correct and complete EHLAC uniform will be ineligible
to have their results (including records) recorded for that meet.
