What is Little Athletics?

HELLO SUMMER!

Our summer season runs from October to March and focuses on the skills required for track & field athletics. We provide training and competition opportunities in two different categories: Tiny tots (4 years olds), Little athletics (5-18 year olds).

Little Athletics is a program of running, jumping, throwing and walking specifically designed to be fun yet provide a challenge for young athletes.  Eastern Hills Little Athletics Centre runs a summer season from October to March using programs of activities that cover many track and field disciplines.

Training is every Wednesday commencing at 4:15 pm to 5:30pm for Little Athletes (birth dates 2020 to 2017 ) and 5:15pm – 6:30pm for athletes (2016 to 2009). Tiny Tots ( 2021 babies ) are fortnightly 4:30 till 5:15/5:30

Centre competitions provide an opportunity for athletes to compete against their fellow EHLAC athletes and are held on Saturday mornings starting at 8am sharp with a few changing to Friday evenings around the Christmas/New Year period to avoid the heat.

Training and Centre competitions are held at Mundaring Recreation Grounds, Mundaring Weir Road.

Specialist training sessions are held from time to time for limited numbers on a Monday after noon.

First Training  – 15 October 2025 ( fully paid registered athletes)

U7–U10: 4:30–5:30pm (marshal at 4:15pm)

U11–U18: 5:15–6:30pm

Come and Try  – 22 October 2025  ( will be training with registered athletes so great opportunity to make friends )

U7–U10: 4:30–5:30pm (marshal at 4:15pm)

U11–U18: 5:15–6:30pm

Tiny Tots First Training – 22 October 2025 (fortnightly)

4:30–5:15pm

First Competition Day – 25 October 2025

7:30am arrival for set-up

8:00am first race

Categories Of Athletics

Tiny Tots

For athletes aged 3 and 4 years (Born 2021 and 2022)

The focus here is about having fun and joining in.

The events they do are modified to be safe and educational for their age.

Ball toss
Vortex throw
Sprints
150 and 200 m long run
Long jump
Training is fortnightly on Wednesdays for 45 min. Each Saturday Morning Tiny Tots can join in our competition day and run a race, throw and jump whilst also watching the big kids do their events

Little Athletics

For athletes aged 5-17 years (birth year 2020 to 2009)

The motto of little athletics is Fun! Family! Fitness!

They will comepete in a range of events including
throws, jumps and running.
